and texts related to any of our translation services.

Errare humanum est; that is why we offer Editing and Proofreading as part of our services. But what does Editing and Proofreading involve exactly? First of all, it should be made clear that these two terms are not synonyms at all. Editing and Proofreading are two very distinct —but equally important— phases of review, undertaken to get the translated text up and ready for publishing.
On one hand, just after the translation is finished, there is Editing. In this phase, the translated text is checked against the original to make sure that there are no omissions or errors in meaning, and that the message is delivered accurately and with clarity. On the other hand, following Editing, there is Proofreading. In this phase, the target text is checked to ensure that it has no spelling, grammar or punctuation errors.
Editing and Proofreading are both fundamental in order to achieve a translated text of great quality. For that reason, it is advisable to carry out both phases before publishing.
At The Good Translator, we edit and proofread both specialized and non-specialized translated texts, as well as texts related to our translation services.
